What we're looking for
  • Students interested in writing and editing
  • Students interested in psychology, human development, cognitive science, or related fields
  • No prior experience is required
  • Open to all majors
Requirements and Responsibilities
  • 3-4 hour weekly commitment
  • Eligible for MCB/PSC/CGS/UWP/ENL 199 units
  • Submit one piece (writing or art) to our journal per quarter
  • Plan and execute The Aggie Transcript: Psychology initiatives
  • Attend weekly board meetings
Application Materials
  • Anonymized resume (1 page)
  • Anonymized cover letter, where in addition to traditional subject matter one would include in a cover letter, you answer at least one of the following questions. (1-2 pages)
    • If you could write a piece about any psychology-related topic and publish it in our journal, what would that piece be about, and why? What genre would you write it in, and who would be your target audience?
    • What is one psychology-related topic that fascinates you, and why?
    • Name one psychology-related idea that you believe has real-world relevance. To whom is this topic relevant, and why?
    • If you were to educate the public about one psychology-related concept, what would it be, and how would you go about it?
  • At least one writing sample (may vary in length, but please ensure that the sample(s) you select are long enough to demonstrate your academic writing ability)
  • Class schedule

Graphic Designer

What we're looking for
  • Students interested in design and visual communication
  • No prior experience is required
  • Open to all majors
Requirements and Responsibilities
  • 2-3 hour weekly commitment
  • Eligible for DES 192 units
  • Create custom graphics for social media and for articles submitted to the journal
  • Design the annual print edition
  • Plan and execute The Aggie Transcript: Psychology initiatives
  • Attend weekly graphics meetings

  • Q: Is there a deadline?
  • A: No, we accept on a rolling basis.
  • Q: How can I apply?
  • A: Please fill out the information on the Google form listed in this section for the position that you want.
  • Q: When will my application be reviewed?
  • A: It will be reviewed during our weekly board meeting. That may take 1 to 2 weeks depending on the amount of applications we receive. 
  • Q: What work should I submit?
  • A: Submit your best writing sample for the board to review and a resume that demonstrates interest in psychology. 
  • Q: What are the credits used for?
  • A: The credits are used for psychology or writing units, but the writing units do not count toward the UWP requirement.
